Sapporo is the main city in Hokkaido and is popular as a tourist destination for domestic and international travelers. Easily accessible from Sapporo Station is the Odori, Sapporo`s main street filled with a vibrant atmosphere all year long. There are many wonderful events to discover at Odori park during the year. Taking the tram from Odori to Mt. Moiwa will give you one of Japan`s most famous evening views overlooking the city of Sapporo. Using the efficient and convenient city transportation of subways and buses gives you access to hot springs, zoos, Hokkaido Shrines, parks and much more. Spring is cherry blossom time, fall is alive with the colors of changing leaves, and winter is time to enjoy the winter sports, snow sculpture festival, ramen, and more of Hokkaido`s popular local treats.

Sapporo Station is the gateway to Sapporo City. The station is home to the JR Stellar Place skyscraper, Daimaru department store and many more shopping options. Close to the station are hotels, and the main bus terminal making it a convenient and efficient place to connect with other parts of Hokkaido. A short 5 minute walk from the north exit of the station will take you to Hokkaido University and a park popular for the fall foliage. It is only 10 minutes from the south exit to Sapporo`s commercial center, Odori. Along the way are popular photo spots in the park and in front of the famous clock tower. In 2011, an underground walkway was completed to shelter you from the weather and connect many of the shops and businesses in downtown. Events are held here and is a great way to get around the city during inclement weather.

The Sapporo City Clock Tower is a building that was designated as an important cultural asset of the country in 1970. It was formerly the Sapporo Agricultural School Concert Hall, The clock located in the It has a structure with a clock on the triangular roof, was purchased in 1881 in Boston, USA, it's it features a retro appearance that gives you a sense of the history of Hokkaido in just one at a glance. It is famous as the birthplace of Hokkaido University, and now the first floor is an exhibition space. Events such as concerts are held in the hall on the second floor. The red and white clock tower is one of the most popular photo spots in Sapporo. At night, the entirebuilding is lit up, a symbol of Sapporo City.

Susukino is an entertainment area that is Hokkaido`s most lively and well known. It is a place where eating and drinking establishments and taverns are open 24 hours a day. It is a roughly 5 minute walk from the Odori main road, and you can use the subway and bus to get here as well. In addition to facilities for visitors such as hotels and restaurants, there are also many shops that offer “Shime Parfait.” It was once popular to end a night drinking with a bowl of ramen, but recently the parfait has become a local popular food of choice to end the night. There are many well-known bars and old-style restaurants which have been operating for a long time. And there are many restaurants specializing in Sapporo Ramen. Many tourists visit the area to take in the nightlife and explore the tastes of Sapporo. A lot of shopping spots are found along the road from Susukino to Odori, so you can take in the sights while enjoying shopping. In the winter there are beautiful illuminations, making it a romantic and colorful place to enjoy a winter stroll.

Nakajima Park is a park created by the construction of a flood gate in 1874. It has been an open space holding events and exhibitions for the people of Sapporo ever since.. The park offers abundant greenery and nature for a relaxing stroll. There are some 43 varieties of trees scattered around the park, including some more than 100 years old There are many trees that reflect the imagery of Japan, including cherry blossom trees, ginkgo trees and maples that produce scenic autumn foliage. Enjoy walking along the iris pond at the center of the park and check the event listing for the concert hall “Kitara" located in the southwest area of the park. Here you canenjoy events and listen to music.
