Susukino is an entertainment area that is Hokkaido`s most lively and well known. It is a place where eating and drinking establishments and taverns are open 24 hours a day. It is a roughly 5 minute walk from the Odori main road, and you can use the subway and bus to get here as well. In addition to facilities for visitors such as hotels and restaurants, there are also many shops that offer “Shime Parfait.” It was once popular to end a night drinking with a bowl of ramen, but recently the parfait has become a local popular food of choice to end the night. There are many well-known bars and old-style restaurants which have been operating for a long time. And there are many restaurants specializing in Sapporo Ramen. Many tourists visit the area to take in the nightlife and explore the tastes of Sapporo. A lot of shopping spots are found along the road from Susukino to Odori, so you can take in the sights while enjoying shopping. In the winter there are beautiful illuminations, making it a romantic and colorful place to enjoy a winter stroll.
