Valley of Gangala
A subtropical forest teeming with lush nature
Guided tours that will captivate you with their mystical natural beauty
Valley of Gangala is a subtropical forest filled with rich natural beauty and diverse wildlife.
Long ago, this area was a limestone cave. Over time, the cave collapsed, and a lush forest gradually grew within the ravine that was formed. Visits to the valley are available only through guided tours, which require advance reservations.
Highlights of the tour include a cave that has been visited since ancient times as a sacred place for prayers for childbirth, a giant banyan tree known as the “Wise Man of the Forest,” and an archaeological site where excavations are still ongoing due to the possibility that people known as “Minatogawa Man,” who lived approximately 20,000 years ago, once inhabited the area.
Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, visitors are immersed in the fascinating world of subtropical plants and wildlife. As you listen to the stories shared by knowledgeable guides familiar with every corner of the valley, the one-hour-and-twenty-minute tour passes by in no time.
