This public bath has an upstanding reputation for its high-quality hot water within Noboribetsu. Originally opened in 1961, it was called "Sagiri Yu". It was renovated in 1998 and became “Yumoto Sagiriyu.” A major feature here is that it does not add water, warming, circulation, or disinfection treatments, and the water flows directly from the hot spring sources. This is unique, because many other hot springs facilities mix the spring water with additional water and filtration. It is a very luxurious facility with an affordable price to enjoy this kind of water from the source. There are two types of hot springs; one is the Ichigo Otsusen, a Noboribetsu classic sulfur fountain. It makes your soap create less suds due to its acidic nature, but it is a good hot spring for treating skin problems. The second type of spring is at the Myoubansen(Alum Spring). This is the only place in Noboribetsu where you can enjoy this kind of hot spring. This is also good for treating skin conditions and it is said that it also works for the eyes as it is known as the "Bath of the Eyes." Both smell and appearance are very similar, so by all means please check out the difference in quality of the hot springs for yourself. In the bath, there is a Yunohana, which is a mineral by-product made from hot springs, available for purchase.
Why don’t you try the natural mud pack yourself?
