Asakusa Hanayashiki
Asakusa Hanayashiki is Japan’s oldest amusement park, first opened in 1853 during the Edo period. It originally began as a flower garden featuring peonies and chrysanthemum displays, but in the early Meiji period, amusement facilities were added, and it soon became a popular destination.
In 1949, it was rebuilt as a modern amusement park, giving rise to the Asakusa Hanayashiki we know today.
The park is home to Japan’s oldest surviving roller coaster, simply called “Roller Coaster,” which opened in 1953, as well as a haunted house and many other attractions enjoyed by families.
There is also a festival-style food stall area where visitors can experience a lively, festive atmosphere.
In addition, the park’s rooftop offers views of Tokyo Skytree and Senso-ji Temple, making it a popular photo spot.
