This is a 4.82-meter-high statue of Joroku Enmei Jizo Bosatsu, enshrined in the Jizo Hall of the Shiratsuyama Shoboin Temple. The statue is known as a guardian of good health, long life, good fortune, good harvest, prosperity of the family, and more. It is also one of the three largest Buddhist statues in Akita Prefecture. The statue is also called the "Bulletproof Jizo," and is said to have been visited by men going to battle during wartime.
