Akitakomachi rice, extra-large Saimyouji chestnuts, thick-walled shiitake mushrooms, log nameko mushrooms, and other crops are grown in the clean water and soil of the Oishi River. The 3rd generation Ruriko Saito continues to pursue the original taste of food by preserving traditional varieties and production methods. You can see Saito taking a break from her farm work and waving to the passing trains between Saimyouji and Yatsu stations.
