Tokyo Dome City Attractions was renamed from Korakuen Amusement Park, which had opened in 1955, in 2003 as part of the renovation of the surrounding leisure facilities.
It has shed its former image as a children’s amusement park and, together with the adjacent Tokyo Dome Natural Hot Spring Spa LaQua, has become a destination that adults can enjoy as well.
The Super Sentai hero shows remain a long-standing favorite and continue to attract large crowds.
Among the attractions, the thrill rides are especially popular. The most famous is the roller coaster Thunder Dolphin, which reaches a top speed of 130 kilometers per hour and features a maximum drop angle of 80 degrees.
One of the highlights of the ride is that Thunder Dolphin passes directly through the center of Big O, a centerless Ferris wheel, creating an exhilarating experience for riders.
